360º Head in 2D
This is an experiment in showing a 360ºview of a head on a two dimensional surface. This concept is loosely based on the Mercator map, which shows a cylindrical object on a flat plane. I thought of this idea during an abstract art history course and how Braque and Picasso painted many facets of a portrait. I figured I could do this with photography. This uses the theory of abstraction while residing completely in the realm of representative portraiture. I have three of these done so far. I need bunch more. This might work, I’m not sure, but they’re fun to make and help me hone my observation and Photoshop skills.
