Sketchbooks have been a great way for me to practice and test out concepts without being too self conscious of the outcome.

Here is the first post in a series of pages from my sketchbooks.  I began these sketchbooks in July of 2007.

Finding novel abstract shapes on various surfaces I’m starting to photograph various floors, walls, and anything that has a surface, which is everything. Most interesting are the floors of CTA stairs and platforms where salt deposits are left after melting snow.
