I Can See Pixels magazine cover

Some images from cameraphone and some theoretical blathering about the historical and artistic context of the cell phone camera are published in this magazine–I Can See Pixels. The magazine is a project of Artur Krutsch and features cell phone photographers from around the world. I Can See Pixels website I Can See Pixels on Magcloud.com

Blurb has added a full preview of books. Below are full previews of the first two cameraphone books.  I plan on doing a third soon.  The first is in the School of the Art Institute’s Joan Flasch Artist Book Collection.  Hopefully I’ll get the second one in and when the third comes out, that one as [...]

Star Wars action figures are the subject of my next series. I am basing the Star Wars action figure portraiture on Richard Avedon series Andy Warhol and Members of the Factory, 1969. Here are cameraphone test samples. Some of these Star Wars toys took a real beating in the McIntosh household from my brother and [...]

cameraphone cameraphone

The sequal to the original cameraphone is now available. It’s about 160 pages with more than 200 photographs all taken with my cell phone. The whole project started as an idea generator, a photo sketchbook using something I always carried–my mobile phone.

The cameraphone project started as a stream of conscious photography sketchbook using the cell phone camera.  It ended up as two books with over 500 images combined.  One more book is on the way.  Both books are available at blurb.com.  You can also see the cameraphone project website at cameraphone.gardenapt.com. cameraphone by Gabriel McIntosh | [...]
